Cycling along on the bike path through the camping area on the north side of the road. Came from behind and was repeatedly attacking for 200m or so. Happened 2 days in a row - now take a detour either along the road or if walking along the riverside but not on the bike path.
Okay so whats actually happened, is i was walking my dog and we were having a bloody beautiful time, AND THEN OUT OF NOWHERE A FAMILY OF MAGPIES RETURNED HOME AND THE MUM AND DAD SWOOPED MY DOG AND I FOR MINUTES UNTIL I CRIED AGGRESSIVELY AND GOT PICKED UP 100m FROM HOME
Shifty b'stard waited in a bush for me, had he timed his swoop better he would've knocked me off my bike. Swooped about five times after that but didn't get too close. I cleared out of his nest's vicinity pretty quickly and there wasn't any trouble after that.
Two agressive magpies swooped us when we were walking to the playground , not afraid of us even though we put up our chairs for protection, we have had previous experience of attacks in this park.
Witnessed Elderly woman get swooped twice on the northern side of Alice Street near the intersection with Alfred Street. Not injured. This is the third September straight that a magpie has nested here.
Do not attempt to use the island at the middle of the intersection of Alice and Alfred Street to cross as you will be swooped. Walk on the eastern side of Alfred street if walking down that street.
