Magpie was on the ground and seemed calm/placid. The magpie suddenly swooped up and scratched my friends eyelid and eye. They are currently in hospital where they are trying to save his eye.
Happened between the fitness stations 1 and 2 (in Princes Park), on the pedestrian footpath (outer asphalt track, not for running). Was wearing headphones and walking when spotted one of magpies flying pretty low, right above my head, from left to right. I began to walk faster (just in case) when the bird turned around and attempted to swoop again. I switched to running and checked if the magpie still here - he was chasing me from behind. I had to run for approximately 100-150 meters till he's gone. Please, be aware of potential magpie swooping in this area!
Before crossing the Lake Heron Bridge, a unexpected swoop from a Pied ButcherBird attacked me 2 times before crossing the bridge. (NOTE: This Bird is related to the Australian Magpie). This bird wasn't highly aggressive, just a little aggressive. I seem to get attacked by Pied ButcherBirds more than Magpies. I suggest avoid this route, unless your really tough with these birds.
Got attacked on the fairway of hole number 6 (pines) at collier park golf course. Even though i was wearing a hat the magpie bit me on the back of my head drawing a little bit of blood.
Not a magpie but an aggressive butcher bird always attacks me in this spot while I am pushing my baby daughter in the pram after looking at the ducks.
Today was the worst triple attack - flying twice at my face and once towards my nine month old daughter!
