It was a pro level Magpie. No warning and no noise.
It attacked my shoulder/neck and because it was so close to me, I got scared and I felt down.
Hands, arm and legs bleeding and the Magpie didn't stop. It attack my helmet 6 to 7 times until I manage to move to a open area.
Magpie swooped several times, very determined. I ended up having to hide under the infrastructure for a while and get off my bike to cautiously pass through to union court.
Riding on bike path towards Lyons shops. Magpie swooped three times hitting my helmet twice. This magpie has been swooping for last 5 years throughout the season. This is the first time this year. I had nicknamed him Nicky Maxwell after former Collingwood captain (hits you late and from behind). He must be upset Hawks won GF.
Hit in back of head by beak resulting in laceration. Magpie made no sound during the first swoop. I held up a stick but it continued to attack even when faced (tried to attack at my face). This attack was outside the signposted 'zone' by a good 100m.
Same magpie that had been swooping me for weeks finally got me.
I came off my bike and broke my arm, fractured two ribs and sprained both wrists.
Bloody thing kept going me as I limped away until I threw a stick at it with my then unknown broken arm. It flew back to its nest which gave me enough time to escape.
I will be actively hunting this SOB if I ever see it again!
