I was cycling south on Rodway St, I have not been along this way for a while as I know that there is a magpie here who swoops. Sure enough, two magpies saw me coming, with one going to a tree along the nature strip and the other waiting on a fence. The first bird, in the tree, took off after me as I went past. It was a half hearted swoop that did not get close to my helmet. Just a single swoop with no effort made to swoop again. I put it down to a waning desire to swoop as the season comes to the end.
Heard warning noise. Stopped and walked. Swooped anyway. Slight contact with helmet. First attack here - Been cycling and walking this way for weeks with nothing.
Came out of nowhere, hit me like a cricket ball in the side of the head. I never even saw my attacker. Drew blood and bruising the next day. I almost cried. The cycle paths are no longer safe.
It nailed me head on and swooped multiple times. Chased me up the street and then waited for me to were if I was going to come back. I thought it was a bit late in the season for such an aggressive attack
Watch the pathway linking Jacka Crescent to Campbell shops. There is a nasty guy living in the trees there. He swooped me several times.
Protect ya' neck! This guy is bloodthirsty!
