Several magpies protecting their nests at the bottom of our garden swoop our two youngest children almost every time they go outside. They have been attacked a number of times although not injured greatly (just landing on their heads with their claws out) although it is only a matter of time before there is an injury. The psychological effect on the children is more damaging as they are frightened to go outside now...
I've been swooped at every day I run for the past 3 weeks. I run at 7am every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.
Without fail the same large male swoops at me and follows me for 500m
The little bugger patrols both sides of the road and is highly aggressive ...will annoyingly give chase for a good 20m or more. Nests somewhere near the roundabout entrance of Carlyle Gardens. My toddler was in her seat at the time, glad it went for my head. I have avoided cycling in the area for a long time since the attack, NP in my SUV lol...bring it on birdy!
Cycling down Isobel Street, Clontarf on Monday (24/11/14) &; swooped from behind 4 times by magpie, making contact with the back of my helmet 3 times. Cycling down same street this morning &; attacked from above by ? same magpie who made contact with my right temple, drawing blood.
