I was riding a bike back from the shops with my son. The magpie attacked me on 3 or 4 attempts and got me in the ear from under my helmet. Blood pouring from my head. Needed to be taken to the doctors and because of where it got me I couldn't get stitches but instead had to have my ear supe rglued so it would mend
Swooped me for about 300 metres despite me watching him as I rode past and as he approached. No chance I was about to stop my bike. Thankfully he didn't make contact, but I'm certainly not going back until November - he won't miss you with the open land.
Made multiple passes at my helmet to which I responded by slowed down dramatically a couple of times. Eventually I just pulled over while it perched on an pole... I did try to throw a stick at it (failed), cussed at it for a bit, texted a friend who suggested barking at it (didn't work), took a nice picture for the Instagram then it lost interest and flew away.
Attacked by magpie riding my bike pulling into work. Attacked me 3 times, hitting me the last time, causing me to come off my bike, over the handlebars. Fractured 2 vertebrae in my neck and a compression fracture to one vertebrae in my back. I needed to wear a Halo neck brace for 9 weeks. I still have pain in my back and neck. I will be starting to go back to work in January. What a menace of a bird.
