My 5 year old son was riding his bike when all of sudden a magpie came from nowhere and swooped on him. The magpie tried to attack his eyes few times but lucky boy somehow manage to save himself. The attack made him fall on ground and I think that probably saved him.
The magpie was quite aggressive and persistent in its attack.
We were cycling in group and the bird attacked my colleague - it had about 5 goes before it finally pieced her ear. As she tried to shoo it away it went from one side of her face to the other - it was intent on causing damage. There was a little blood and the ordeal was very frightening.
Heading south down Connell Ave on the bike. Magpie squadron leader came in for a low attack on the right hand side outside the white rail fences. Low quality attack with swoop back. Easy to defend at speed. Take care troops.
I was cycling past Bendat Stadium heading East at 7am when a magpie swooped from the trees in Perry Lakes parkland. It followed me for about 200 m, repeatedly attempting but never actually making contact, before it returned to the trees.
I was at the park by the beach with my child and saw another little girl get swooped by a magpie as she was walking down the path towards the beach from the park. Not too aggressive but still swooped
My daughter had just been swooped and injured two minutes before and I was getting all the kids together reassuring the injured one and getting them to group together so I would walk them out to a clearing when I hear my 6 yr old son scream behind me and he had just also been swooped and hit just at the corner of his eye and under his eyebrow and it was bleeding. I now had two injured kids and the other freaking out and injured from my bike falling on her as I tended to the second injury. It was all happening!
Walked them to a clearing and got them to sit protecting their eyes while I made a few trips back to grab all the bikes and make our way home for medical attention..
My daughter was riding her bike about 80m ahead of me and my other 2 kids when I saw her get swooped. I didn't think at this stage it had made contact. She got of her bike and was screaming running towards me and it was still following and swooping at her while she was on foot. When we reached each other I could see she had been hit at the side of her eye just under the last part of her eye brow and it was bleeding.
