I was swooped by a magpie that made no noise ie no clacking of beak or wing noise and so took me by complete surprise. He made contact below my helmet. Luckily I was wearing a headband under my helmet as contact was made with his beak and I suspect he would have broken the skin otherwise. A friend was also swooped by the same offending magpie and he made contact with her helmet and head numerous times. Avoid riding along this stretch of road if you can.
This guy is defending a few blocks it seems. Chased me about 150m with at least 10 swoops. Often makes contact, and doesn't care if you're looking at him. Only seems to attack cyclists.
Might be a couple in the area, or just one super aggressive one.
Walking down Roslyn Street close to home and was attacked from behind. The bird smacked into my head really hard using its full force. It then flew onto a tree in my driveway and sat there.
Extremely vicious got hit twice in back of head and also clawed while casually walking my 4 year old. Had bad injury bleeding and was driven home by local neighbour. Their your daughter was hit in the forehead near the eyes the day before I was hit and was told quite a few others in the area had been hit. This is a very vicious magpie unlike others is very aggressive! It aims to injure and young children at at high risk. I have to now go see the doctor a second time as my head is on fire! WARNING Aggressive Magpie!
