Was riding my bike when it swooped me 4 times, each time hitting my helmet. On the 4th time it got me off balance and I took a fall landing on my elbow and hip. Whilst I was down it continued to attack. Ended up with a cut on the jaw (from the helmet strap), a bruised hip and bruised ego :(
I was walking a long the path from werribee station, passing werribee river, I saw a lady infront of me was attack by one of the magpie.. Then she quickly ran away, when I was reach the same spot the 2 magpie swooping on top of my head n one of the magpie try to attack me, it was fierce n quick I had to ran from it.
Swooped from behind (second attack of the day in a different location), with wings hitting my helmet. Came for a second pass, but backed off when I started trying to wave my hand in the air (I could see a shadow of when it was getting near).
Swooped (closely) three times. Stealthy Magpie - no squawking. Note also that about a week before a large black snake was on the bike path, luckily parallel and not across the path. Was just on north side of swampy area where you go under roads above. Came as quite a surprise as was just around corner. Had no time to change my mind! The snake was not aggressive - I think it hardly moved. Suspect it was appreciating the heat from the asphalt.
I had just dismounted from my bicycle and I was walking on the sidewalk next to my bicycle when magpie attacked. Magpie didn't get too close that he actually touched me or the helmet but swooped several times.
