A small magpie was constantly chasing me and swooping at me. It made about five to six swoops. Because it was making a loud high noises, I was aware of its swoops and was able to protect me. I was also wearing a hat. Luckily no injuries.
However, I have no hard feelings towards magpies. We have to remember this is their world too. They are only trying to protect their nests. Always be vigilant and if possible wear a hat.
Merely walked towards the park when magpie swooped right towards me from the front. I dodged quickly from my reflexes or it might have directly hit me. It then swooped from behind, and again swooped several more times, once hitting its beak on the back of my head.
I was riding my bike, I got off my bike and walked and it didn't attack me, my friend kept riding but was shaking his hat above his head, as soon as my friend put down his hat, the magpie went too swoop
Chased for a few metres flapping at head height, then attacked. Occurred on Grattan Street near the main gates of Melbourne Uni. Small bird, large white patches. Saw the bird again today, it's got a real mean scraggly look about it. Avoid!!!
