Magpie attack on Cyclist - 40 Powell Dr, Hoppers Crossing VIC 3029
I was cycling down Powell Street (Hoppers Crossing VIC 3029) when I heard a close bird sound behind me. I looked up and saw a Magpie following me on a 1 meter distant. It was trying to get to me. I panicked and waved with my hand. It kept the bird away for a second and then it came back. A car passed me and saw me struggling. He or she tried to help me by honking the car. This also helped for a few seconds. Eventually I sheltered under a tree on the other side of the road, waited for a few seconds and then cycled as hard as I could back home. The bird left me alone after a few meters.

Magpie attack on Cyclist - 115 James Rd, Pine Mountain QLD 4306
On the Brisbane Valley Rail trail . This bird is not afraid. He gets down low on a tree very close to you and as soon as your back is turned to him he strikes. Has good aim and knows he can get under your bike helmet- Viscious bird and very strange this late in the year- has never happened here before.

Magpie attack on Walker - 23 Wellington Parade, Yokine WA 6060
The bird followed after me and whooped toward me from my back. It has been happening recently every time I walk on the described area and the attempt of attack lasts for 100 meters of walk... one of longest road ever.

Magpie attack on Cyclist - Sanctuary Lakes N Blvd, Point Cook VIC 3030
Cycling 30-32kph. A couple of birds swooping from perching on the lampposts around the Signature Blvd area. Made a few passes with wing/beak clacking. Not deterred by arm waving. Didn't make any difference whether I went clockwise or anticlockwise around S.L.

Magpie attack on Walker - 619 St Kilda Rd, Melbourne VIC 3004
I had just alighted from a southbound route 16A tram at the St Kilda Rod/ Union Street stop at 1011 on Sunday morning 28 November. As the tram was about to depart, a magpie swooped from the second plane tree on the northbound centre median strip and went straight for my right eye. It is behaving naturally and protecting its territory, but I was surprised as I did not have a hat on. The magpie was extremely accurate and fast. I love magpies and other Australian native birds: this is the first time I have been swooped.

as im a road enthusiast i thought swooping season was finished but alas this magpie is still about, he must of disliked me from my starring role in the tv commercial. he had a few dives and alot of squawking but i put the power down just like in the tv ad and i was out of there in no time uninjured. Magpie attack on Walker - 25 Peel St, West Melbourne VIC 3003
I was walking across the street in the crosswalk to the market looking at my phone and the bugger swooped and pecked the top of my left eyebrow leaving a red mark. I'm a tourist from US and was definitely caught off guard. Far meaner than NYC pigeons.
