Was visiting Wedge island then made a last minute desision to go to north island and as soon as I hit the sand a magpie took my sunflower hat. I was extremely upset as the sunflower hat was my great great grandmothers hat.
DON'T GO TO NORTH ISLAND OR THEY WILL SWOOP YOU AT TAKE YOU SUNFLOWER HAT THAT YOUR GREAT GREAT GRANDMOTHER GAVE YOU!!!
Was cycling at fast pace then it started swooping, followed for 100m.
Is awfully close to houses, didn't touch me though. Thought magpie season ended in November...
I am a little bit unsure of the exact location, but what I know for sure is it was after that bush biking track that connects to rails to trails. The track had a branching path that leads to houses and roads, and when I came to the roads I was swooped.
Magpie swooped me from the large tree at this address. I have walked past the same spot again since and it happened again.
First time it hit the back of my head and the second time made no contact.
Was listening to music whilst cycling so didnt hear it coming but seen its shadow infront of me, turned round and it was just about to hit me so i dived off my bike. Slightly damaged my bike but luckily no injuries
Walking through the small park area near all the new Putney Hill apartments, which lead to Victoria Road. This area is surrounded by trees, I was walking through and heard flapping behind me, turned around and saw the magpie on the grass staring at me, heard the flapping again but continued walking faster. Second occasion, same area but heard a squawking noise, started to swoop at me again from behind, covered my head with my bag. Doesn't follow you once on the main road.
