Cycling south along Groom Street, thinking that this magpie had ceased attacks for the year, I was almost at Jensen St when he came from the west, no sound, and straight to my right ear. His claws drew blood from that ear but it felt like his body hit that side of my head because I am sure I felt feathers as well. He flew up and tried to come from the back left, but I think tucking my head down below my backpack made it hard for him. He then flew up into a tree just near the corner of Groom and Jensen St with no more attacks. I think I will avoid this area for a few more weeks.
