... A second swoop from the rear. I'm jolted with force back into myself. Aerial assault confirmed. I'm outnumbered. Surrounded. Weakened by hunger (... and mildly parched). No one to hear me scream. No protection. No backup. There was only one option remaining... perhaps the ultimate sacrifice? The sliders. I launch them gusto, a final act of defiance. The devil's breath hot at my back. Then of course I skedaddled! As I had never skedaddled before. And return to work. I'm Some say bravery is found in battle. Yet as I reflect on my moment looking into the abyss I say true bravery is found in the letting go… in my case, of the lunch I almost had. Stay vigilant.
