Magpie attack on Cyclist - 39 University Ave, Acton ACT 2601
This magpie was in the same location last year and has a nest high up in one of the trees. Last year it attacked me perhaps a dozen times, and each time it would attack, it swooped multiple times. It would either miss or hit the helmet, but this time it actually pecked my ear. Another guy I talked said his ear was also swiped when it swooped him, as well as a another person who actually reported the attack on this website, so it seems this magpie has improved his aim.

Magpie attack on Cyclist - 8 Alpine View Ave, Bright VIC 3741
My husband got off his bike to cross the small bridge as the sign requested, then he got back on his bike just before the car park where he was aggressively swooped on twice by a magpie. Both strike drew blood and left two 5cm scratches, gave him a headache and the impacts put his neck out

Riding along Discovery, I was swooped by two birds working together, one bird hit my right shoulder with its wing, and one managed to strike the left side of my neck under my helmet with its beak. A minor puncture wound but not too serious.

Magpie attack on Cyclist - 30 Elouera St, Braddon ACT 2612
Riding my bike into Fawlker Street opposite the Salvation Army Hall. Magpie bashed me on the helmet in four swoops. Clinging onto clothing each time and biting my ear through my hood. Bruised ear. I don’t mind the attacks but it would be terrifying for a child and it’s a particularly savage bird. It’s an area that gets lots of foot and cycling traffic. Bird gets fiercer each year.

Magpie attack on Cyclist - 86 Dandelion Dr, Rowville VIC 3178
Cycling north to work in the morning and the magpie swooped from behind. He attacked my ear 3 times, with a 'song' after each clip. There are a lot of magpies on this road, but the ones further south aren't bothered by people. I hadn't seen magpies in this specific spot before, as I have actually been purposely keeping a watchful eye for their nesting areas, and this wasn't one I knew about.

Magpie attack on Cyclist - 39 University Ave, Acton ACT 2601
Magpie hit me hard in back of neck, pecked ear. Luckily had ear protection on under bike helmet but still left red marks on my ear and stinging. Lost my earring as a result as well. Came at me a few times. No sqwarking at all, just aggressive swooping.
