One magpie here, but it has a very large territory. Every time I dismounted and walked my bike 20-30 metres away, it would swoop. Hence, it was following me. It only stopped when another cyclist rode from the other direction.
Swooped by magpie twice. Had cable ties on helmet and it only made a kind of "hover attack".
Magpie seems to attack riders wearing red - I have ridden past this spot many times this season and not been swooped but I was wearing red this time.
Very aggressive Magpie swooping cyclists (not pedestrians, interestingly) on the Atthlon Dr cycle path near Beazley St Torrens. Repeated swoops, contact each time. It seems to concentrate its attack to the left side of the helmet, and no injury this time but it is possible. This is a very protective bird. P.S, it has been swooping for months (first attacked me 01/07/2014), but must be peaking now.
