There is a small clearing in the trees along the walking track where the houses are set back a little but the clearing has a small light blue fibro dwelling with an awning on the left which is closer to the track than the houses. A lovely lady has this as her art studio and helped me at the time. The first couple of swoops were just before I came out of a bunch of trees to the clearing, just before the blue dwelling heading east so my guess is the nest is in the bunch of trees along side of the track (west of the blue dwelling). No injury. The pecks were fairly mild but I do not want to experience that again! Terrifying!
I was returning home, fresh out of the womb. held in shelleys arms I was swooped. I remember it all to well, it was almost like it happened in slow motion, the bird and I locked eyes as it was only millimetres away from my scalp. he had a look of pure, relentless, vicious nature. as his claws made contact with my head I wanted to scream in fear (but was unable to as i was only born just hours ago) almost 15 years on I have daily nightmares about this incident. please have extreme caution in this dangerous area.
Multiple times I have been stalked and swooped by magpies here. The first time there was no warning call, it swooped multiple times before fleeing.
A few days later it happened again but further up the road. This time there was audible calls and loud noise as the bird targeted me.
They seem quite aggressive, so be warned.
