Walking on Kenbury Street (just passed the Ruby field) in Bulimba when a magpie swooped on me several times. Swooped from behind initially then front the front and then above.
Swooped at whilst cycling, 7.50am, single bird continually swooping at me, mainly from behind, aiming at my head, thankfully didn't make physical contact.
Heading across bridge towards bottom of Steege St and copped a direct hit to the left back side of the head with the birds body. Didn't have any trouble riding the other direction on the 27/08/2014 so could be isolated.
This little bugger never gives up, these past 2 years I have been bike riding to university, every time it gets even remotely close to the swooping season this bird is up and active, swooping at me repeatedly until I'm at least 100m away from his nest. The most effective method I've found is to wave my hand swiftly behind my head, that seems to ward him off.
Cnr Garro and Chilten - bird nesting in tree in the park there - swooped down about 4 times on me from behind as I was walking - happened last year too and Council removed the tree on the corner of the park where it used to nest - now nesting in another tree in the park
