Not reporting an actual attack, this time.
This is more the Community Service Announcement.
Maggie in question lives in the large gum on Studley Park, nearest Esdale Street, and has done some for at least the last 5 years. He is well known to the locals.
The trigger or offending item is bicycle helmets. Remove the bicycle helmet, in the park, or as you ride by, and he STOPS swooping.
Attacked while on my bike. Got swooped heading sth towards Anzac Ave. Heard a swoosh of wings and was able to wave it off. Heading sth on my way home, was a lot more agressive. Would be careful with this bird. May cause an injury in the near future.
I was swooped twice last week while cycling.
This morning I got of the bike and was walking slowly. This time it attacked me twice and scratch my cheek a little.
Swooped from being while riding. Heard a cracking noise - not sure if it was the magpie pecking my helmet or just it's beak snapping together. Bird followed me at least 150m swooping four times.
