2nd swooping in 100 metres by 2 different magpies. Magpies are normally unaggressive in the area every year until youths trying to hit them with sticks a couple of weeks ago. Have to find another way to ride my daughter to school.
Not very aggressive, but repeatedly swooped from behind to brush my helmet as I was climbing the incline. No screaming or beak snapping, either. No sign of him on the return trip as I coasted down the hill, so he probably waits till cyclists are at their most vulnerable on the incline. Best guess is that his nest is in the trees by the St Laurence's College playing fields.
