Two magpies swooped and got me (in quick succession) whilst walking the pathway through Bowen Park. Walk this route regularly and this is the first attack I've experienced here. It is signed to beware of swooping birds.
This one swoops every year and is usually not too aggressive but has become more aggressive lately swooping closer and snapping it's beak where before it'd only fly about a meter away from you.
Was riding along the road to enter the Mount Warren Park Oval. I road under the large tree on the same side of the road that the oval is on. I turn around just before the oval entrance to see if there was any cars and a magpie was right behind me. I didn't hear any calls but bear in mind I was wearing earphones so I could have just missed it. I'm presuming the nest is in the tree somewhere.
