Second attack in the same day, this time coming up Lower Plenty Road towards Waiora Rd- Another hard peck/impact to crown of head, decent amount of blood. Very aggressive bird, worst attacks in 5 years. I tired to avoid the maggie by coming up via St James Road but it found me. Will be avoiding the area entirely and not using Rosanna Station.
This is one of 4 attacks I have had on this street (all of them on the first half facing towards the main road) have been left with a scar on the left side on off my face last week and today i was given a nasty peck on the back of my head and was bleeding profusely... stay away from this street.. if you are walking to the tram take an alternative route as this magpie is known too swoop frequently and is very territorial
My 4 year old daughter was scooting along the path in the Marara Road park when a magpie swooped from nowhere and smashed in to her helmet. There was such a force that it cracked the surface of the helmet. If she had not had a helmet on, the magpie would've taken off her ear.
