Swooped a couple of times as I was riding - didn't see where it came from. Didn't actually hit me. There was a magpie here last year, so this is probably the same one.

Swooped by a magpie whilst walking the Teneriffe river walk, clawed my eye and flew back to nearby house.

Magpies are protected throughout Australia, and it is against the law to kill the birds, collect their eggs, or harm their young. If you feel a magpie is a serious menace, it should be reported to your local council.
