Swooped twice by magpie. No sound from bird prior to attack. Bird is clever and goes for side of helmet near ears. Felt it touch but fortunately no wound or blood resulted. Ride very fast...

Cylcing past and he bit me hard on the ear lobe and came back for another 5 goes. 4 on the RHS, 2 on the LHS. No blood drawn this time but he certainly had a very good aim.

Magpies are protected throughout Australia, and it is against the law to kill the birds, collect their eggs, or harm their young. If you feel a magpie is a serious menace, it should be reported to your local council.
