Approximate location and time of attack along Spitfire Ave (within +/-50M and 15 minutes). The attack especially surprised me as it still July! (30th). I was attacked while riding my bicycle. One swoop only, hit the back of my helmet. I turned to look and sight the bird, but I could not see the bird. I saw many Magpies during the rest of my ride, but was not attacked further. I did not hear the bird give a warning squak, snap their beak, nor to the best of my knowledge did it perform an earlier warning swoop prior to pecking the back of my helmet. Having stated that, I am deaf in one ear and have hearing loss in the other ear (it is what it is), but I usually hear close swoops or if they clack their beak.
