I was sitting on a park bench and the magpie swooped low over me and flew to a nearby tree that had no leaves. I kept an eye on him and 15 mins he directly swooped right at me and i had to duck to avoid him....

Whacked me hard on left ear. I know this sounds like a paid promotion, but I reckon my Pieproof helmet paid for itself as it was a hard enough hit to have done some damage otherwise. Surprised no-one...

Magpies are protected throughout Australia, and it is against the law to kill the birds, collect their eggs, or harm their young. If you feel a magpie is a serious menace, it should be reported to your local council.
